Read Across America

Join us as we once again pay tribute to Dr. Seuss by reading some exciting Seuss stories and making a fun Seuss craft. Read Across America is a project of the National Education Association (NEA) and began as a way to get kids excited about reading.

You’re invited to join the Children’s Services Department as we observe El día de los niños/El día de los libros, Children’s Day/Day of the Book. This celebration of children, families, and reading is held annually and emphasizes the importance of advocating literacy for every child regardless of linguistic and cultural background. Together we will share a special bilingual story time, food and entertainment by Mr. Magic!

Nature Walk through Murphy Park

Meet in the Childrens’ Area
Join Steve Dunlap, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, and learn about the different kinds of trees, plants, birds and other animals that make up the park. Bring a friend and your camera. A light snack will be provided.
