TEEN TIME
2008 Fall Programs
Unless otherwise stated, all programs will be held at 2:00 pm the
second and fourth Saturday of the month.
September 13 - Teen Volunteer Appreciation Party. A cookout will be held at Murphy Park for all teens who participated in the summer volunteer program. Certificates of Appreciation will given out. Teens are encouraged to bring friends to learn about the Y.A.A.C. group.
September 27 - Board Game Tournament. Got a game that you excel at? Monopoly, Connect 4, Checkers, Sorry? Come see if you can beat other teens at their game. Prizes will be given to the top players.
October 11 - Books With Bite / Teen Read Week Kick-Off. Participate in a Mystery Play! Was it the teacher? The jealous mom? Maybe even one of the teens committed the crime! Be the first to solve the mystery.
October 16 - Horror Movie Classic. Watch an oldie but ghoulishly good horror flick. After school 4:30 pm. Free popcorn and drinks.
October 18 - Manga and Drawing Book Swap. Do you have manga books or drawing books in good condition that you are just tired of? Bring them to theLibrary and swap them for something new to you!
October 25 - Vampires! Vampires! Share your favorite vampire story. Original stories may be shared online with other teens all over the nation. There will be lots of scary goodies and games to top off the afternoon.
November 8 - Tee Shirt Surgery. Old tee shirts seem to collect in drawers, under beds and on the backs of chairs. Do you need a new look for some of them? We will give you some ideas to perk up an old tee by cutting, tying and painting . This is a great way to recycle a tee that is stained, torn or one that is stretched out of shape.
November 22 - Altered Cards. Get crafty by making collage cards with inspirational words, a favorite poem or special decorations. Give them to someone who needs a lift. Shared materials such as cute pictures, glitter or fine tipped pens will be appreciated.

The Springdale Public Library is seeking
the writers of tomorrow!!!
If you feel the creative urge to write your own
masterpiece, you are invited to join other young
writers dedicated to honing their craft.
Beginning Tuesday, September 9, a
teen creative writing group will meet each
Tuesday from 5:006:00 pm to read and
critique each other’s work.Participants can submit their works
for publication as part of the second
volume of Inklings, the Library’s young adult
creative writing journal.The program is free and registration
